R-E-S-P-E-C-T yourself
We have all heard the saying, how people treat you is often a reflection of how you treat yourself.
To honor yourself and others is to revere it, to show courteous regard, and also to hold ourselves in high respect.
When we are not saying 'NO' when we mean yes we are disrespecting ourselves and the other.
When we don't honor our bodies, our thoughts, actions, and spirit we are disrespecting ourselves and the other.
Each of us is guilty of showing disrespect at one time or another to someone else and ourselves.
Let's practice being more mindful of our thoughts, beliefs, ideas, and actions.
Let us be open to the opinions and ideas of others without having to rearrange them. Let's give the other's the same RESPECT we want for ourselves.
If we are struggling with respecting another, maybe the problem lies within, time for self-examination. It's a good idea to check in with ourselves when we feel rubbed the wrong way, after all, we can be very sensitive and take things out of content, not always, but sometimes.
People do show up and sometimes perform for our highest good, I call them the messengers of life. Sometimes it is not so much about what they are doing, but how we are reacting.
Our self-worth and self-respect for ourselves can be revealed in our responses and actions.
We must take responsibility for how we are being treated, get away from the blame and shame game.
We must get to know ourselves more in a way that our intentions are for the highest good for ourselves and others: Kindness, openheartedness, and understanding, forgiveness and know that not everything is about us and that we can move on and away from a situation that does not serve us or the other.
Forgiveness for self and others will set us free, it takes away the judging, it just says we are all here working our way back to ourselves.
Bottom line; Believe in yourself, treat yourself with respect and don't take anything personally. Dolby Dharma
“Respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you, or makes you happy.” Robert Tew
