Bonding, a natural, nurturing, internal process that is crucial for our development. Rushing life takes away the experience we need to survive in this world. Inner bonding is a healing salve that lubricates the body, mind, and soul. Let life unfold naturally in its own time.

Cocoon and the Butterfly

Many of us know that a beautiful and colourful butterfly comes from an unappealing worm! Here is the story of a butterfly that was never able to live its life as a normal butterfly.

One day, a man saw a cocoon. He loved butterflies and had a craze for its wonderful combination of colours. In fact, he used to spend a lot of time around butterflies. He knew how a butterfly would struggle to transform from an ugly caterpillar into a beautiful one.

He saw the cocoon with a tiny opening. It meant that the butterfly was trying to make its way out to enjoy the world. He decided to watch how the butterfly would come out of the cocoon. He was watching the butterfly struggling to break the shell for several hours. He spent almost more than 10 hours with the cocoon and the butterfly. The butterfly had been struggling very hard for hours to come out through the tiny opening. Unfortunately, even after continuous attempts for several hours, there was no progress. It seemed that the butterfly had tried its best and could not give any more try.

The man, who had a passion and love for butterflies, decided to help the butterfly. He got a pair of scissors and tweaked the cocoon to make larger opening for the butterfly and removed the remaining cocoon. The butterfly emerged without any struggle!

Unfortunately, the butterfly looked no longer beautiful and had a swollen body with small and withered wings.

The man was happy that he had made the butterfly come out of the cocoon without any more struggles. He continued to watch the butterfly and was quite eager to see it fly with its beautiful wings. He thought that at any time, the butterfly might expand its wings, shrink the body and the wings could support the body. Unfortunately, neither did the wings expand nor the swollen body reduce.

Unfortunately, the butterfly just crawled around with withered wings and a huge body. It was never able to fly. Although the man did it with a good intention, he did not know that only by going through struggles the butterfly can emerge to be beautiful, with strong wings.

The continuous effort from the butterfly to come out of its cocoon would let the fluid stored in the body be converted into wings. Thus, the body would become lighter and smaller, and the wings would be beautiful and large.

If we don’t want to undergo any struggle, we won’t be able to fly!

We all have a past, some of us love to walk down memory lane and tell our stories, while others still live in the past. When a story of the past brings you sweet joy and gratitude at this moment, that is a gift to be embraced. You feel grateful for what brought you in the here and now, and a jog down memory lane is just that, a quick run, you don't live there anymore.

Unfortunately for some, their lives are based on what was, what happened and letting go of their past can be painful and challenging, all brought on by the thoughts they are thinking.

When we live, our lives rooted in what was; we rob ourselves of 'living fully' in 'what is' happening now. Life unfolds in the present time. Bonding with our current moments is where we can feel and be fully alive.

Be mindful of where your thoughts go and how they make you feel. Create experiences that can bring us peace, joy, and equanimity.

Show a little kindness to yourself!

The most significant relationship you will ever have is the one you create for yourself. Begin each morning giving yourself a little kindness, I know you can rock that! Nobody does it better than you!

Self-love, kindness is the best way to great the day, it is a feeling of warmth, it feels cozy, and it is bonding. Watch your words to yourself; be patient, focus on your breath, allow yourself to feel your feelings without judgments about them being good or not so good.

With self-kindness, you create space for yourself, and it allows others to be themselves and experience their emotions. How we treat ourselves is vital, it shapes the way we look, how we treat people, but most of all it is the best healing balm on the planet. It begins with you!

Listen carefully to the whispers of your heart, know that you deserve to receive good in all ways. Embracing your beautiful self; creates ♥More FUN ♥ More LOVE ♥ More ABUNDANCE ♥

Remembered in love!

We are back in blog land after seven months of life changing events. Love exists in ALL ways and in each one of us. It always will be the best part of our lives.

Life is short not to send love, give love, and appreciate those who are in your life. Special tokens of love are so memorable to each of us. We always want to re-member and be remembered whether we are here on earth or transition to our next life. That is why adornments get passed down generation to generation. A time for remembering those who have left us.

Ellie, my partner, lost her dear beloved hubby on August 30th, 2016, so you can only imagine that blogging was not on the list. She was attending to her family and honoring the love she and Dewain shared for 52 years this month.

We love sharing stories about our bonding blankets; A couple of years ago Ellie sent Dewain a bonding blanket to let him know how much she cherished their love.

Dewain believed in our Bonding Blanket; he was so very supportive of all the things we wanted to accomplish with this little blanket of love.

Dewain slept with his Bonding Blanket every night up until the day he left planet earth. His Scent is left behind on his Bonding Blanket, and Ellie assures me that eventually she will wash this blanket filled with his love and replace the smell with his aftershave Cologne. Love never dies!

I was reading an article the other day about healing the Mother wound; I was very touched by many bullet points the article shared remembering the day of my healing with my mom at the young age of 24 years. When we are little, feeling connected to our moms in the early years is so natural, you did not think about it, after all, it is MOM, the caregiver, the MOTHER.

As time marched on and I got older I could feel the separation from my mom, not being conscious of the subtle change, I slowly was transferring my needs for comfort, understanding, and connection onto my girlfriends. The duality of life was taking form; I was disconnecting wanting to be independent, but still wanting my connection to my familiar mom. 

Fast forward with a connection in mind, in 2013 my partner Ellie Bracken and I created the 'The Bonding Blanket', a unique way to connect with our friends, loves, mentors, sibs, etc. The idea behind our bonding blanket is likened to the woobie blanket, a favorite toy that we felt connected, loved and safe with when we were young, and it was given to us by someone special, most likely our moms.
