R-E-S-P-E-C-T

R-E-S-P-E-C-T yourself
We have all heard the saying, how people treat you is often a reflection of how you treat yourself.
To honor yourself and others is to revere it, to show courteous regard, and also to hold ourselves in high respect.
When we are not saying 'NO' when we mean yes we are disrespecting ourselves and the other.
When we don't honor our bodies, our thoughts, actions, and spirit we are disrespecting ourselves and the other.
Each of us is guilty of showing disrespect at one time or another to someone else and ourselves.
Let's practice being more mindful of our thoughts, beliefs, ideas, and actions.
Let us be open to the opinions and ideas of others without having to rearrange them. Let's give the other's the same RESPECT we want for ourselves.
If we are struggling with respecting another, maybe the problem lies within, time for self-examination. It's a good idea to check in with ourselves when we feel rubbed the wrong way, after all, we can be very sensitive and take things out of content, not always, but sometimes.
People do show up and sometimes perform for our highest good, I call them the messengers of life. Sometimes it is not so much about what they are doing, but how we are reacting.
Our self-worth and self-respect for ourselves can be revealed in our responses and actions.
We must take responsibility for how we are being treated, get away from the blame and shame game.
We must get to know ourselves more in a way that our intentions are for the highest good for ourselves and others: Kindness, openheartedness, and understanding, forgiveness and know that not everything is about us and that we can move on and away from a situation that does not serve us or the other.
Forgiveness for self and others will set us free, it takes away the judging, it just says we are all here working our way back to ourselves.
Bottom line; Believe in yourself, treat yourself with respect and don't take anything personally. Dolby Dharma

"Strike a Pose"

I am PATIENT and have enormous STRENGTH with myself and others. Sometimes it's within the pauses that the greatest revelations come about.
Find your balance when you step outside.
Everything you need to find strength is in the pause, that is where the hidden treasure of a new perspective can be found.
When you refocus, you gather clarity on what matters most at that moment. This helps you remember you have powerful strengths that can be immediately used.
Today is a great day. Go out and play and marvel at your skills!
The Mantra:  I improvise, I adapt, and I overcome. I have found the treasure within.

Self-acceptance or self-love, when approached from a deeper level of our true nature-love, is not superficial or vanity. Self-love is an honoring of our life-force by loving ourselves no matter what flaws, qualities or challenges we may hold within and express without.
We can begin each day with new thoughts, new discoveries, and a new awareness.
When are intentions are for the highest good of self-acceptance and kindness for humanity, everyone benefits!
We are all unique expressions working our way back to ourselves. How Awesome is that?

"Feelin Alright"

"Feelin Alright"
Day Twenty-Seven of the Self-love 31-day 5-minute Challenge: Self-Awareness
Create a list of at least 10 of your virtues, talents, accomplishments, and the things that make you 'uniquely' you. We all have many attributes that make us distinctive, some we are aware of, and others not so much. Getting to know thyself in a busy world is not an easy task unless we make some time to acknowledge ourselves.
Journaling our features helps us recognize ourselves, and maybe ignite a spark to help us hone in on a quality about ourselves we might not be aware of that we can foster more of.
Creating a daily habit of self-awareness contributes to changing up the way you might feel about yourself in a positive way, and allow for more acceptance when things don't go how you would like them. Unfortunately, that is when we can beat ourselves up, and give up.
Most of all don't be shy about your qualities, you are an amazing being, and self-awareness is where you can discover your dormant treasures.
A real voyage of Self-discovery ahead. Bon Voyage!  Dolby Dharma

Receiving End of Life

Receiving End of Life
Day Twenty-Five of the Self-love 31-day 5-minute Challenge: Receiving
Where can you open to receiving life's abundance? Sometimes we are busy 'giving' ourselves away to life's demands. So often we don't feel worthy or deserving of receiving the gifts that life, people, and goodness have to offer us. Maybe we block the receiving by always doing, giving and not allowing ourselves to receive. I am sure if you think about it, you have this innate knowing that receiving at times can be uncomfortable or hard.
I invite you today to Allow, Accept and Appreciate the endless energy that flows through you. This energy is the conduit that allows you to receive more love, more goodness, more happiness and more "AHA" moments. It is the sparkle that wakes you up to your creative side of life and lets you feel your life-affirming abundance; to receive all that is your birthright, to receive.
How can we do this: It is the practice of letting go of situations, storylines, material things, and people, etc. We are endlessly being filled up with heavy energy that needs to be cleared out. If we don't move it out, it gets stuck and weighs us down.
You Let Go When You Let In, you are receiving life. Results; Love expands and comes back to you, abundance comes, joy comes, everything shows up. The hard part to letting go.
When I refer to, letting go, it is not about forgetting the past, mistakes, bad habits before we can receive. It is an energetic exchange of giving and receiving. Look at letting go as 'giving' the Universe back that which no longer is needed or serves your highest good, and allow yourself to receive fresh new energy.
☮Dolby Dharma

When in Doubt, Take A Rest!

When in Doubt, Take A Rest!
Day Nineteen of the Self-love 31-day 5-minute challenge: Rest
The challenge came late in the day today. Therefore, I felt 'Rest' was an excellent suggestion to take the night in.
What do you think of when it comes to rest? For me rest is not necessarily rest of the body; it is about inner rest of the soul.
About allowing the restorative balance in our lives.
We make time for workouts, lunches, playtime, etc....But what about tuning into that deep inward relaxation of 'letting it go.' To walk away and allow ourselves to be restored, to feel the breath, to feel the mind, to feel the energy bathing the cells in our bodies, healing us and granting us another moment.
Per the ten commandments, the rule of thumb is to take twenty-four hours off in a week to rest. But not all of us follow that law, and there are many circumstances that people feel doesn't allow for that kind rest commitment. Therefore, this challenge is simple; FIVE minutes just to rest, sit and sip yourself inward.
The purpose of rest is NOT about the rejuvenation of the body so that you can be more productive: The purpose of 'rest' is to enjoy your essence, your life in general, to feel an appreciation for rest and restoration of the body, mind, and spirit.
There is this magical AHHHHHHHH that happens when you just 'Let it go, a relief and a pure pleasure.' Spread your wings to fly beyond the little nest of your old habits, 'STOP' what you are doing and take a rest. Dolby Dharma
The Mantra: It's ok for me to unplug myself for a few minutes to rest.

Befriending Yourself; Make time for a play date."

"Befriending Yourself; Make time for a play date."

Day Fifteen of the Self-love 31-day 5-minute challenge: Friendship

I invite you to BEfriend yourself, you are wondering how do I do that, or what does that look like! First; everything begins within! There is no question about that. What's on the inside vibes on the outside, that is the law of attraction. Before we can be any kind of friend, we must start with ourselves. We most likely don't even think about ourselves in that light.

Today, just for five minutes’ feel what it's like to be a bit more “Self-ISH” (not selfish) but taking care of your own well-being and not leaving yourself behind so that you can bring to the table the very best YOU. After all, everywhere you go there you are, love that expression.
Being a friend to yourself is the introduction to the beginnings of relationships with others. First, we must approve and accept ourselves before we can share that friendship with another.
Think about how many times you have gone out of your way for a friend to be kind, and leave yourself out. How many times did you sacrifice yourself for another's attention and time without giving yourself that same courtesy? Plenty, I am sure, I know because I have done it.
It is crazy how great we can be to others showing them the BEST parts of our 'Giving Tree', but when it comes to our own needs, that goes on the back burner. Not being friends with ourselves doesn't allow sustainability with others.
Being a good, kind, loving BF is showing YOURSELF that same grace and hospitality that we show our friends. Be kind to yourself, embrace your humanness; Celebrate yourself as a part of a whole family, the likenesses of all those outside ourselves, that we truly are, imperfect, perfect, filled with magic, filled with love to share and wanting to be loved, accepted, appreciated and most important, connected.
Self-friendship is knowing YOU. It’s not only about embracing the less appetizing parts of ourselves, but also engaging a strength that perhaps has gone unnoticed because we might have been looking outside for that part of ourselves. Befriending yourself is about coming into your fullness. If we don’t treat ourselves in a friendly manner, we don’t treat life in a friendly fashion.
I have always believed, "the best way to have a friend is to be a friend to yourself first and foremost."  What you do for yourself, affects your world outside of you, remember to practice random acts of kindness towards yourself! Dolby Dharma

Let yourself receive

What a great feeling it is to let go and allow yourself to receive all the gifts life offers. When we receive, it allows the giver to feel joy. Giving and receiving is a two-way exchange of energy that can nourish and nurture both parties.
I know many people who are uncomfortable with receiving or taking anything. I once asked a friend why it was hard to accept; she replied, "I would feel like I owe them something, or I was obligated to return the favor in kind." How sad not to feel worthy of a gift of any kind, love, monetary, or just a compliment without feeling you must give it back.
I know when I give my, time, money, energy, love, and kindness; I am giving with an open heart because it gives me pleasure. It is the ebb and flow of an open-hearted energy exchange of what life is all about.
It took me a long time to kick it back and receive. I was always the doer, rescuer, and the giver. In some ways, it gave me some control over the situation. Receiving was perceived to be a weakness, that I needed something. When the 'AHA' moment came to me that I was robbing another of an opportunity to give, I learned to say, "Thank You." The more I engaged in that, the better I began to feel about letting go and receiving the gifts I deserved and witnessed the pleasure the giver received.
Growing up being the oldest of nine I was always the caregiver, the doer and just giving my time and energy to keep it all together. I guess you could say it was an occupational birth order hazard.
The automatic mother in me! It took me many many years to let go of being the one to give up myself and allow others the pleasure of giving.
The act of receiving and being open also brings us many other blessings; renewed sense of self, you are more creative and have more energy, and rightfully so, you are finding your balance, you don't feel drained, there is a reason to express your creative side. The more you open and receive life's gifts, you release stagnant energy in the body that has been blocked being on the one-way highway and you begin to heal in miraculous ways.
Open up to receiving, when you need something; reach out and ask, you will never know the answer if you don't ask the question. People are good natured and want to help in any way they can, they don't read minds, they feel the energy. Find your balance, let love in, and let the help of another ease your daily burdens.
Love is in you and all around you. Just expand your heart and allow life to fill you with the healing balm of love. YOU deserve it! Dolby Dharma

Be good to you!

Be kind to yourself as you are to others. Feelings, like thoughts, come and go. If you can get a handle on the concept that thoughts and feelings 'this too shall pass,' you can begin to practice self-compassion, self-love, and acceptance and not rooting all that as absolute truth.
There is a saying, "If you don't have any money in the bank, there is nothing to withdraw for yourself or to give to another". Life is pretty much that way too. Withholding love from yourself is depletion, and without knowing or feeling goodness for yourself, you cannot give 'heartfelt love' in return to anyone that would be genuine in nature.
Being good to yourself just means treating yourself as well as you'd treat a friend. If you spend all your time being good to everyone else, but don't take the time to pamper yourself or address your own needs, then you will end up unfulfilled.
Being good and kind to others is commendable but if you deprive yourself then nothing else you do will count for much because you will suffer in the long run. Include yourself and make YOU a priority when you perform acts of kindness. Dolby Dharma

Spiritual Tool Box

Each one of us has a 'spiritual tool box' that has everything we need to keep us grounded. Everything around us is energy, and it is constantly shapeshifting throughout our day. Each person, place, and situation bring their energy into our vortex and vice versa.
It is not a right or wrong situation; it is just energy doing its thing.
Our spiritual tool box has an abundant supply of everything we need to raise our vibration and that of those around us. We have rituals, metaphors, and intention at our disposal all we must do is access them from within our heart space that beats out energy.
Performing rituals is an excellent way to clear your energy field especially if you feel like things are dark, or relationships are strained.
The ceremony I have personally used is the water in the glass ritual.
Spend a few moments each day to clear your energy, first thing in AM is great before you have encountered life.
Get a glass of water preferably one that you can always use for this ritual, fill it up. Now create a mantra (one of your choosing) while holding this glass of water in your hand. I like to say, "Please remove all negative and attaching energies and entities, cast them into the naked nothingness and fill me and all energies with the white light of healing and good vibes." I say, "Thank You," and "so it is."
You will feel lighter and brighter, I promise. There is something about taking the time to care for ourselves, more importantly very powerful to move your energy in that high vibration. Everyone benefits.
At the end of your day, pour the glass of water down the sink or toilet and don't forget to close the lid; Call upon the Universe/God to receive these heavy energies that are trapped in this glass and transform them into positive healing energies. Thank it once again!
Love is Divine, and you are Love and so is everything around you, after all, you have the tools to make it beautiful. Dolby Dharma
“Positive simply means unifying energies, while negative simply means separating energies. It's not about what's good or bad, right or wrong. It's about embracing what feels good and brings us closer to peace.” ― Alaric Hutchinson, Living Peace

Out of your head and into your heart!

Note to self: Be kinder to yourself. Send out the vibrations you wish to experience in your life; that is the law of attraction.

What comes to you is the perfect opportunity to make it what you want. Remember we are always in tune with our emotions.

No matter who or what sets us off, we have choices. IN joy the beautiful you. Find all that is right, in you, around you, above and below. You are the Universe!

I shall no longer entertain negative thoughts or self-saboteur
feelings to zap me of my energy.
I shall focus on all the unordinary, fantastic and kindness that is in my life.
I will think it, feel it, and speak it loving thoughts.
I will send out vibes of positive energy into the world.
I shall be grateful for all the wonderful things it will attract into my life.

I am an open and willing vessel. Breathe the mental self-nurturing energy into the rest of your body. Get out of your head and into your heart. <3 Dolby Dharma

"Swing within"

We are still basking in the Magical Super Full Moon energy, at least I am.
As the moon begins to decrease in size and move toward the New Moon in Sagittarius, it is a perfect opportunity to start setting new intentions, leave old limiting habits, beliefs behind, assess where we are, and focus on endless possibilities. The beauty of another breath brings a gift of another opportunity to begin again.

Time to nurture ourselves, go within, give ourselves permission to put ourselves first. All things, people, and situations in our lives depend on us keeping ourselves together.

If our foundation within is taken care of, we can handle when things fall apart, and they do. We need to care for ourselves in healthy ways, by nourishing our body, mind, and spirits. Let's fill our hearts by aligning our thoughts in divine order of priorities, self-care first.

“Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.” – Carl Jung

Acceptance!

When I think of acceptance, I think of mindfulness. When we consciously accept a situation that we have no control over changing we change our course of action; the biggest change is our attitudes towards the unwanted situation.
When we can't change it, do we lean in or do we carry on complaining about the situation 'as if' that is going to make it more acceptable?
The practice is not to push against the undesirable, not to tear it apart, but to become mindful of our existence to whatever it is that we can change and change what we can, quietly, without notice.
Acceptance helps us stay in the balance, stay healthy and steady. It raises our vibration and affords us the stability to make changes that can benefit us and everyone.
Pushing against life is what throws us off, and ultimately makes what we don't like worse than it already appeared.
By accepting life, it is to experience the rawness, the unaltered moments, to meet life as it is, feel the experience and make changes if acceptable. Some things in life cannot be altered, and that is our greatest moment of accepting 'what is,' and let go of the struggle.
Acceptance is Mystical, Powerful, and healing. It affords us peace within our hearts for ourselves and others. Dolby Dharma
